assists new and struggling churches to obtain Bibles, gospel tracts, Sunday School literature, Vacation Bible School material and other church training and discipleship materials.

One of UCM’s main goals is to establish partnerships between a needy and deserving Nicaraguan church and a church in the states. There are specific guidelines on which both a Sponsored Church and a Sponsoring Church must agree. All ministry dollars are channeled through the local church in an effort to bolster the church’s influence.

Churches in the states are encouraged to send a representative on a UCM Mission trip to see first hand the needs that exist in the churches. It is this visit that inspires many churches to want to further assist UCM in meeting verifiable needs. UCM can identify hands on mission projects for those churches that want to experience the joy of working together with a Nicaraguan church.

With an underemployment and combined unemployment rate of over 50 percent and poverty everywhere very few church members have Bibles. Imagine a Sunday School or discipleship training without literature. Some churches have never had a Vacation Bible School. What if you had no teaching resources and only a simple Bible from which to prepare a lesson each week, or were trying to conduct Vacation Bible School without teaching aids?

Many times it is difficult for an individual or family to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ when there is no food in the house. UCM seeks to provide food assistance for families through the local churches.

For those individuals, churches, civic organizations, Sunday School classes or mission groups who desire to provide funds for specific ministry efforts in a Nicaraguan Christian Church the following opportunities are available.

• Bibles ……For $25 you can purchase 4 Bibles or for $300 you can purchase a case of 48 Bibles, which may meet the needs of an entire church.

• Sunday School and Discipleship Training Material ……A gift of $100 will provide Sunday School or training material for a teacher and 10 students for an entire year.

• Food for the Hungry ……A gift of $50 will provide rice, beans, flour, salt, sugar and cooking oil that will feed a family for a month.

• Gospel Tracts ……A gospel tract is sought after and cherished. A gift of $6 to $10 will provide 200 gospel tracts to be used in church evangelism efforts.
